No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. Christopher Dodd on the Financial Overhaul bill

“No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. But we believe we’ve done something that has been needed for a long time.”  Democrat Senator Christopher Dodd on the Financial Overhaul bill, June 25, 2010

Let’s get this straight.  It is “a great moment,” he is “proud to have been here,” he’s “done something that has been needed for a long time,” BUT NO ONE WILL KNOW HOW IT WORKS UNTIL IT IS IN PLACE.

What were the voters of Connecticut thinking when the elected and re-elected a clown like Senator Dodd?

Did anyone actually READ THE BILL?  After “20 messy, mind-numbing exhaustive hours” it certainly seems unlikely.

This from Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, tax cheat, Christopher Dodd, mortgage fraudster, and Barney Frank, tax cheat.   So, we’re letting people who cheated on their taxes regulate the rest of us.  No wonder things are bad.

Crist – a dishonest, unprincipled, power-hungry, lying, opportunist of a politician.

Crist complains it is “lonely” on the campaign trail and that his “friends” didn’t support his change of party.  A betraying politician and doesn’t understand why.  Crist’s problems are multi-fold:

1. He lied to voters and his “friends” in the Republican party repeatedly in 2010. When it didn’t look like he had a chance of winning, he broke his repeated promises. Now he doesn’t understand why any one with an ounce of honesty and character wants anything to do with him? Well, that just adds STUPIDITY to Crist’s flaws.

2. Crist ran on a party with principles based on freedom and then betrayed that. It shows Crist has one principle: POWER FOR HIMSELF. If he thinks that party is “too far right” it means that he is willing to sell out some of your freedom to gain power for himself instead of defending liberty.  Who wants a politician who is more concerned with his own power than your freedom?

3. “Lonely”?  Come on, be a man Charlie.  Stop crying about the consequences of the choices you made.  We elected someone who complains about being “lonely” on the campaign trail?  Come on, how old is Charlie Crist?  Four? Five?

4. Crist didn’t leave because of principles, he left because he couldn’t win.  Hearing Crist talk about principles is like hearing Mao talk about his fondness for liberty.  Why would ANYONE vote for someone who has NO PRINCIPLES?  You will have no idea who you are voting for, except someone who will do what is best, best for himself that is.

Sorry, Charlie, Florida wants politicians who are (a) honest, (b) keep their word, and (c) are willing to fight for freedom, not power.  Crist is none of those: he is an dishonest, unprincipled, power-hungry, lying, opportunist of a politician.  And since he doesn’t understand why he is unpopular after lying repeatedly to the citizens and voters of Florida, he must be stupid too.

A No Win Situation for Isreal

The point of the blockade crashers was exactly this – a no win situation for Israel.
1. If Israel keeps them offshore, the press is bad because the “peace activists” (who video shows had stun grenades and other weapons and used them to attack) will be described by the press as just want to help the terrorist organization who has as its charter the destruction of Israel.

2. Let them in, weapons get to the terrorists and the terrorists are emboldened.

3. Try to board and be attacked (update: see video below) and see how it escalates.

No matter what, Israel lost – which was the point of the challenges to the blockade – and the world press will only look superficially at the situation and buy the BS that is being sold them without looking at the reasons and ramifications. And even if 99% of the idiots on the boats were innocent they were being used by the 1%. Nukes and other WMDs surround Israel and Israel is supposed to let the terrorist supporters in or get closer?

The world will eventually pay for lack of stability and vision. Neville Chamberlain should have taught us the folly of appeasement.

What is so bad about going to doctor and not having to pay?

A friend of my cousin’s stated, in defense of ObamaCare, “What is so bad about going to doctor and not having to pay?”  One answer is that SOMEONE has to pay.  You will pay one way or the other.  You will pay in cash, in respect from your friends, and in your liberty.  There is no middle ground between being a welfare parasite and being free.

There are two ways of dealing with others – voluntarily or at the point of a gun. This solution is to put a gun to my cousin’s head and the Dr’s head and say, “I don’t want to pay my own way, I want YOU to pay for MY choices.” If you want to be free, the gun is not the logical or moral choice. It is the parasitic choice. The thing is that if my cousin’s friend is doing it to the two of them, there are 100s of people who will be doing it to her. Is that what anyone really wants?

I dare say the slave owners in the South felt the same way: “What is so bad about getting food and water and shelter without having to pay.” Oh, you mean the slaves were paying for it with their lives? But, really, “what is so bad about going to … Continue reading What is so bad about going to doctor and not having to pay?

“How lucky you are! I had someplace to escape to.” In that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.

Another sad day in the decline of freedom in the world.  Freedom is a precious thing that must be protected at all costs, once lost it is difficult to reclaim.  This quotation just about says it all:

Not too long ago two friends of mine were talking to a Cuban refugee, a businessman who had escaped from Castro, and in the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, “We don’t know how lucky we are.” And the Cuban stopped and said, “How lucky you are! I had someplace to escape to.” In that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.

Ronald Reagan, October 27, 1964

There are two ways to allocate all resources, by free choices between free people or force.  The point of the gun is the method of thugs, power-hungry politicians, parasites, and dictators.  Will you choose freedom or thuggery?

Good cannot be accomplished by evil means.

Throw out the old flag along with the Constitution…

With the “Health Insurance” vote, it has become clear of the two major parties, there is one party of freedom and one party of totalitarianism.  Anyone intellectually honest knows the Constitution prohibits government actions such as this (or the Patriot Act for that matter). To see a document of enumerated, limited powers twisted into the opposite by power-hungry politicians sworn to protect and defend it is disgusting. The Founders are not just spinning in their graves, they have spun so fast they have completely disintegrated.  Just like the protections in the Constitution.

So, the United States can now throw out the old flag while Congress throws out the last vestiges of the Constitution.  As such, a more modern flag is needed.  Several contenders to replace the old “Stars and Stripes” with a more timely flag are shown below.

Which do you prefer?  Let us know in the comments!

All this talk about rules…we make em up as we go along-Alcee Hastings

Incoherent, arrogant, Democrat Rep Alcee Hastings (D-FL) states “we make [the rules] up as we go along.” Talk about a crooked politician. Alcee Hastings needs to go.  His full quotation:

“I wish that I had been there when Thomas Edison made the remark that I think applies here. ‘They ain’t no rules around here, we’re trying to accomplish something.’ And therefore, when the deal goes down, all of this talk about rules – we make ‘em up as we go along.

Think about this: Alcee Hastings was impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate for bribery and perjury. And then the people of Palm Beach County elected him to the House of Representatives. Now he acknowledges that he makes up the rules as they go along. So much for an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. So much for the rule of law – this is the rule of whim. Hastings should resign.
And what Edison actually was reported to have said was: There ain’t no rules around here, we’re trying to accomplish something.   He did not say “They ain’t know rules around here.”  While Rep Hastings may not like “rules,” he swore to uphold the largest – the Constitution and plainly is either too ignorant or too uninformed to do so.

A benevolent dictator is still a dictator.

A benevolent dictator is still a dictator, no matter the motives.  Whether or not he arises “for a good cause” or not, does not make the result any better.  A slave with a benevolent master is still a slave.  A slave for a “good cause” is still a slave.

No one would argue that the slaves were “extreme” demanding freedom, but even if they were, as Goldwater said, extremism in the defense of liberty is … Continue reading A benevolent dictator is still a dictator.
