We were really helped when President Ronald Reagan came in. I remember non-commissioned officers who were going to retire and they re-enlisted because they believed in President Reagan…. That’s the kind of President Ronald Reagan was. He helped our country win the Cold War. He put it behind us in a way no one ever believed would be possible. He was truly a great American leader. And those of us in the Armed Forces loved him, respected him, and tremendously admired him for his great leadership. General Wesley K. Clark

I made a speech by that title [A Time for Choosing
I made a speech by that title [A Time for Choosing] in 1964. I said, ‘WeOve been told increasingly that we must choose between left or right.’ But weOre still using those terms – left or right. And IOll repeat what I said then in O64. OThere is no left or right. ThereOs only an up or downO: up to the ultimate in individual freedom, consistent with an orderly society – or down to the totalitarianism of the ant heap. And those today who, however good their intentions, tell us that we should trade freedom for security are on that downward path. Ronald Reagan

We are a nation that has a government–not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our Government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed. Ronald Reagan

When I was younger, I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not; but my faculties are decaying now and soon I shall be so I cannot remember any but the things that never happened. It is sad to go to pieces like this but we all have to do it. Mark Twain

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years. That is what makes a marriage last –more than passion or even sex! Simone Signoret

I personally don’t need some arrogant, left-leaning, holier-than-thou individual using the force of the government to dictate how I should act. If I see someone who I believe needs and deserves my help and I have the ability to provide that help, I will do so. It is all about a single word: freedom. Those such as the letter writer have no problem forcing their will upon other members of society. I, on the other hand, wish only to leave others to their own decisions and have them leave me to mine Bob Cogliano
