Kagan Declines to say government has no power to tell Americans what to eat!

When asked to state whether the United States Constitution allows the Federal Government to mandate that people consume certain foods every day, Kagan would not say it did not. So much for the concept of “enumerated powers,” “limited government,” and the entire Constitution. Kagan has obviously no interest in the Constitution itself, merely her own power. What a disgrace to the concept of a Justice. Her view is judging by whim, not law.

Fascism at its best. Despots, tyrants, marxists, socialists and other dictators would love a woman who believed there was nothing the government couldn’t do – from ignoring the First Amendment to telling you what to eat.

No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. Christopher Dodd on the Financial Overhaul bill

“No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. But we believe we’ve done something that has been needed for a long time.”  Democrat Senator Christopher Dodd on the Financial Overhaul bill, June 25, 2010

Let’s get this straight.  It is “a great moment,” he is “proud to have been here,” he’s “done something that has been needed for a long time,” BUT NO ONE WILL KNOW HOW IT WORKS UNTIL IT IS IN PLACE.

What were the voters of Connecticut thinking when the elected and re-elected a clown like Senator Dodd?

Did anyone actually READ THE BILL?  After “20 messy, mind-numbing exhaustive hours” it certainly seems unlikely.

This from Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, tax cheat, Christopher Dodd, mortgage fraudster, and Barney Frank, tax cheat.   So, we’re letting people who cheated on their taxes regulate the rest of us.  No wonder things are bad.

“I don’t fully understand the movements in the gold price,” Ben Bernanke, Fed Chairman

“I don’t fully understand the movements in the gold price,” Ben Bernanke, Fed Chairman, June 14, 2010

What does it tell you about the Fed Chairman?  When the Federal Reserve was created one once of gold was worth $20.  Today an ounce of gold is worth $1200 [August 2012, it has been even $1600].  What does that tell you?  It does not tell you the value of gold has risen that much, but that the value of the dollar has fallen that much.

It tells you that the Federal Reserve has mismanaged the dollar so badly that one dollar has lost around 98% of its value through inflation.  Remember that inflation is a silent tax which falls hardest on those at the lowest end of the economic ladder.

Congressman Etheridge goes crazy and assaults student!

Democrat Congressman Bob Etheridge attacked a college student on a Washington street, here is the video:

While most people would be charged with assault and battery, one wonders how U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge will get off.

And the Washington Post calls this a “hug“!  Now, if the Washington Post wanted to have any journalistic integrity, they would call it what it is instead of bending over backwards to try and protect this thug.  The Washington Post long ago lost any ability to be independent and is stuck in the “protect those in power” at any cost mindset.  A disgrace to a paper that in the past had some journalists working there instead of PR flacks.

What are the people of North Carolina thinking electing scum like Bob Etheridge to Congress?

Update:  Bob Etheridge has now issued a statement:

Washington, DC, Jun 14 – U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) released the following statement on the viral video which appeared on the internet today: “I have seen the video posted on several blogs.  I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved.  Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response.  I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.” Rep. Bob Etheridge (NC-02)

“I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.”  Rep Etheridge, does “civil public discourse” include attacking people?  Etheridge is a joke.

Crist – a dishonest, unprincipled, power-hungry, lying, opportunist of a politician.

Crist complains it is “lonely” on the campaign trail and that his “friends” didn’t support his change of party.  A betraying politician and doesn’t understand why.  Crist’s problems are multi-fold:

1. He lied to voters and his “friends” in the Republican party repeatedly in 2010. When it didn’t look like he had a chance of winning, he broke his repeated promises. Now he doesn’t understand why any one with an ounce of honesty and character wants anything to do with him? Well, that just adds STUPIDITY to Crist’s flaws.

2. Crist ran on a party with principles based on freedom and then betrayed that. It shows Crist has one principle: POWER FOR HIMSELF. If he thinks that party is “too far right” it means that he is willing to sell out some of your freedom to gain power for himself instead of defending liberty.  Who wants a politician who is more concerned with his own power than your freedom?

3. “Lonely”?  Come on, be a man Charlie.  Stop crying about the consequences of the choices you made.  We elected someone who complains about being “lonely” on the campaign trail?  Come on, how old is Charlie Crist?  Four? Five?

4. Crist didn’t leave because of principles, he left because he couldn’t win.  Hearing Crist talk about principles is like hearing Mao talk about his fondness for liberty.  Why would ANYONE vote for someone who has NO PRINCIPLES?  You will have no idea who you are voting for, except someone who will do what is best, best for himself that is.

Sorry, Charlie, Florida wants politicians who are (a) honest, (b) keep their word, and (c) are willing to fight for freedom, not power.  Crist is none of those: he is an dishonest, unprincipled, power-hungry, lying, opportunist of a politician.  And since he doesn’t understand why he is unpopular after lying repeatedly to the citizens and voters of Florida, he must be stupid too.

California College Offers Scholarship to Illegal Immigrants

California College Offers Scholarship to Illegal Immigrants (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/05/28/calif-college-offers-scholarship-to-illegals/)

A public community college in California has set up a $2500 scholarship fund for immigrant students — including illegal immigrants. Next they’ll be offering scholarships for other criminals.

Scholarships for LEGAL citizens and immigrants is great.  Lawbreakers, not really.

Politicians never lie, they just “misstate”

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam, and you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it, Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.” Richard Blumenthal, Norwalk in March 2008.

Again, TheHill.com covers for politicians when reporting Vice President Biden’s joke about Richard Blumenthal’s Vietnam service record reporting that Blumenthal “misstated” his service record.  At various times the media has reported that Blumenthal “misspoke” and “misstated” his record.  One has to wonder after how many “misstatements” it becomes a lie.  Usually that is the FIRST OR SECOND TIME you state something that is untrue.

Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday took an unexpected dig at Democratic Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal for misstating his military service record….Blumenthal became the brunt of Republican criticism after The New York Times reported he misstated his service record during the Vietnam War on several occasions.  TheHill.com

Holder should appoint Special Prosecutor for Sestak Job Offer

CNN’s John King said to Axelrod that a job offer for Rep. Seststak “marches up into the gray area, perhaps into the red area of a felony. It is a felony to induce somebody by offering them a job.”  Sestak has alleged on multiple occasions this year that he was offered a job to refrain from running.  Gibbs has acknowledged that such conversations have taken place (“Lawyers in the White House and others have looked into conversations that were had with Congressman Sestak, and nothing inappropriate happened.”  and”Whatever conversations have been had are not problematic.”  On CBS’ “Face the Nation” Gibbs said, “I’m not going to get further into what the conversations were. People who looked into them assure me they weren’t inappropriate in any way.”).

The offer would appear to violate federal criminal laws, including 18 U.S.C. 600, which prohibits promising a government position “as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity” or “in connection with any primary election or political convention or caucus held to select candidates for any political office.”  Likewise 18 USC 595 prohibits a federal official from interfering with the nomination or election for office and Section 18 USC 211 says that you can’t accept anything of value in return for hiring somebody in the Federal government.

Either the Democrat candidate for the Senate has lied multiple times or a felony has taken place.  One would think that the media would care to investigate and a Special Prosecutor should be appointed.

Axelrod replied to CNN’s King that “If such things happened they would constitute a serious breach of the law, and when the allegations were looked into there is no evidence of such a thing.”  And when Ted Bundy was asked to look in the killings of which he was accused, he found that there was no evidence that he had been involved.  Thankfully other people investigated Bundy.  We don’t give the people accused of a crime the responsibility and authority to investigate the allegations themselves.  Hence the Special Prosecutor.
