Colin Powell completely distorts the argument. The argument is not about immigration. The argument is about illegal versus legal immigration. I don’t know whether Colin Powell is just misinformed or purposefully arguing about something that is not at issue, but either way one would expect Powell to be better informed.

Obama skips “by their Creator” in Declaration of Independence
Earlier today (Sept 15, 2010), President Obama recited the Declaration of Independence as: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal… endowed with certain inalienable rights: life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” And added “That’s what makes us unique. That’s what makes us strong.”
The actual Declaration states:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
