Obstructionism reaches new high in Washington

The obstructionist, extremist big-spenders in Washington today continue to block measures for the United States to live within its means.  The extreme spenders in Washington continue to believe that they know better than you what to do with your money.  The power-hungry extremists are willing to spend the United States off a cliff by spending irresponsibly in order to buy your votes with your money.  This puts the power-hungry politicians in a position of control over you by control of the purse.  Instead of Freedom and Liberty, the extremists prefer power – their power over you.

Instead of a compromise that involves freedom, the power-hungry extreme spenders want more control over you and your family.  No compromise on spending with them, just foot-dragging and blaming others for 4 years (2006-2010) of Democrat Controlled Congressional spending.

Will the extremist Democrat obstructionist compromise and let the United States live within its means?  Or will the extreme spenders insist on their own power-grabbing schemes until it is too late for the programs they claim to support (e.g. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid)?

Extremist Democrat Demagogues in Washington reach new heights (or low?)

Will the extremist Democrat Demagogues in Washington be financially responsible?  Will the sun go dark at noon tomorrow?  This week the President has reached a new low in demagoguery.

The President demagogues about the rich and their jets while a Democrat controlled House and filibuster-proof Senate passed with President Obama’s signature, the very  provisions President Obama is complaining about.

This goes to show how far the extremist Democrat demagogues in Washington go to hold on to their own power instead of doing what is right and responsible.

The extreme spenders in Washington are more concerned about their own power rather than financial responsibility.  The height of extremist foot-dragging has come from the President this week.

A court says that minorities are burdened by being held to the same standards as everyone else?

“A federal appeals court has struck down Michigan’s ban on the consideration of race and gender when enrolling students at public colleges and universities because it burdens minorities.”

What does it mean when a court says that minorities are burdened by being held to the same standards as everyone else when applying to college?  Think about what it implies about minorities!

And worse, it is institutional racism.

A tax loophole is a term that is part of a law voted on by Congress and the President which is used to manipulate the uninformed.

A tax loophole is a term that is part of a law voted on by Congress and the President which is used to manipulate the uninformed.   When you hear a politician use the word “loophole” you can know that they are trying to manipulate you and should look closely at whatever is said thereafter.

For example the “tax loophole” regarding “corporate jets” that was lambasted by the President on June 29, 2011 was included in President Obama’s own stimulus package from 2009.  It is called “accelerated depreciation.”

It is the height of insanity to have the Democrat controlled House, the Democrat controlled Senate (filibuster proof at the time) with a Democrat President pass the provision on “accelerated depreciation” in 2009.  And then a little over two years later in 2011 lambast the Republicans for the tax law when its renewal was a completely Democrat construction and no Republican could stop it.

Yet none of the mainstream media bothered to report this or seemingly even research it.

One could call the home mortgage deduction a “loophole” as well as anything else that the Congress and President have put into law.

A loophole is part of a tax law that a politician now wants to demagogue about.

Autopen machines are unconstitutional

“the president would use an autopen machine that holds a pen and signs his actual signature [on the renewed Patriot Act]. ” the White House said.

Article 1, Section 7 of the United States says: “If he approve he shall sign it…” regarding the “Legislative Process”.  Clearly the Constitution intends the President to sign a bill, not have a machine sign Bills. Anything else is unconstitutional.

Yet another example where expediency has trumped the Constitution.  Opinions to the contrary are useful to mask the issue and create confusion.  The Constitution is clear here and treating it otherwise is disingenuous at best, and treasonous at worst.

This discussion is ignoring the problems with the Patriot Act itself.

Update 5/28: The rational that the President “authorized” it means that ANYONE could sign bills for the President if he “authorized” it.  A dog’s muddy footprint would work if it was authorized presumably.  What exactly is required to “authorize”?  A verbal statement – what about someone faking his voice?  A wink – or was that a twitch?  Something signed – oh wait, that is what we’re talking about?

The signature of the President IS the authorization for a Bill and it makes no sense to authorize the authorization. Just stating that makes it obvious how crazy the entire idea is.

As an attorney, all the legal memorandums that have been rolled out trying to justify the action are nothing more than ex post facto attempts to justify the autopen.

When President Obama comes home, he should sign the Bill in person and never use the autopen again.  The use of the autopen is a farce.

Remember:

The signature of the President IS the authorization for a Bill and it makes no sense to authorize the authorization.

“Can any of you seriously say the Bill of Rights could get through Congress today? It wouldn’t even get out of committee.” ~ F. Lee Bailey

True and sad.  For the last 90 years those in charge have betrayed the founding principals of the United States.

D.C. Police Abuse Man in Wheelchair

D.C. Police Abuse Man in Wheelchair by throwing him to the ground and then they leave him there. Where they afraid he’d run? Talk about out of control. Again these are not police officers, but pigs and should be fired.

The D.C. police issued a statement that included stating that “the patron resisted arrest which resulted in him falling out of his wheelchair.” Now if you watch the video, you will clearly see the police are lying, they guy did not “fall out” of his wheelchair, he was thrown out of the wheelchair.

I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office. Obama

We cannot, and will not, sustain deficits like these without end. Contrary to the prevailing wisdom in Washington these past few years, we cannot simply spend as we please and defer the consequences to the next budget, the next administration, or the next generation.

We are paying the price for these deficits right now. In 2008 alone, we paid $250 billion in interest on our debt — one in every 10 taxpayer dollars. That is more than three times what we spent on education that year; more than seven times what we spent on VA health care.

So if we confront this crisis without also confronting the deficits that helped cause it, we risk sinking into another crisis down the road as our interest payments rise, our obligations come due, confidence in our economy erodes, and our children and our grandchildren are unable to pursue their dreams because they’re saddled with our debts.

And that’s why today I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office. This will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we’ve long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay — and that means taking responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control.  President Obama, February 23, 2009

The sad part is that he is right, but instead of doing what he said, the deficits have continued, become much worse, and will have tripled the national DEBT according to projections.  In short, it is the exact opposite of “A New Era of Responsibility.”   Unfortunately the actions have not followed the words.
