National Tea Party Convention’s William Temple hurts the Tea Party

Fox is running a story, “Tea Party Slams Boehner and Ryan on Debt Ceiling.”  The store includes a picture of William Temple (whomever that is) who is stated to be “chair of the “National Tea Party Convention” (whatever that is) showing him dressed in a costume along with someone else dressed similarly.  Stunts like this do nothing but damage the Tea Party movement. Does he want to be taken seriously? He should not be  dressing like a fool. Taxes, debt etc are serious topics, and trivializing them does no good.

No one is ridiculing free speech here, but Temple trivializes the issues and hurts the tea party movement by dressing like a fool. If Obama or McCain had shown up dressed as a clown in 2008 or Darth Vader, who would take them seriously?  The answer is no one.

It is necessary that one be aware of how people perceive you and these gentlemen do not appear to be aware. Concentrate on ideas, not playing dress-up.  Not all press is good.  This is one example of an occasion when the ideas matter, not stunts.  It makes one question their judgement which is the last thing that the Tea Party needs.  Unless they are intentionally attempting to hurt the Tea Party.

There are numerous Tea Party groups, the National Tea Party Convention and William Temple are doing nothing but damaging the other groups.

The press will look for nuts like him in order to portray the entire Tea Party movement as old, out-of-touch, and touched.

Tea-Parties.com does not support stunts like this either.

Rick Hernandez Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Jim Coats of Pinellas County disgraces to the badge

Here is video explaining how some Sheriffs in Florida intend to infringe upon the rights of law abiding citizens in the State of Florida, if Florida becomes an open carry State. Rick Hernandez, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, and Jim Coats of Pinellas County are disgraces to the badge for making statements like this. Hernandez states that anyone open carrying will be stopped. “When someone is walking down the street with an exposed gun, nobody knows if they’re legal or not legal. Do they have a permit? Maybe they do maybe they don’t.” No mention of probable cause. There are millions of people driving in Florida every day no one knows if they are legal or legal.  Do they have a license?  Maybe they do, maybe they don’t.  Imagine if you could be stopped in your car just to verify your license? Sounds like a police state.

Jim Coats goes so far as to say “rights need to be granted in a responsible way.” Sheriff Coats, I think you have the United States confused with a Fascist country, perhaps Hitler’s Germany. In the United States, rights are not granted to the people.  Rights are retained by the people.  Privileges are granted, rights are not. Hernandez ends with “If we think that people carrying guns openly makes you safer, I think that is a bad assumption.”  If we are operating on assumptions, I think Sheriffs like these two individuals carrying guns openly makes the entire State of Florida less safe.

Sheriff Rick Hernandez says it will be “very, very cumbersome, and very, very scary” if Florida becomes open carry. “Very cumbersome”? Sorry, Sheriff, if doing your job is “cumbersome” perhaps you should find a different profession? We wouldn’t want to have our rights make your job more difficult now would we. He goes on to state that “our stress level is very high at this point.” Well excuse the public for making you do your job. You don’t like the stress level? Pick another profession.

I do not know who is hiring these Sheriffs and police officers in Florida, but the quality and caliber of the men involved is so low as to be disappointing to anyone in the State.

Remember: when seconds count, the police are just minutes away.  Exercise your rights or lose them.

Fascism was the shadow or ugly child of Communism. As Fascism sprang from Communism, so Nazism sprang from Fascism. Winston Churchill

Fascism was the shadow or ugly child of Communism. … As Fascism sprang from Communism, so Nazism sprang from Fascism.

Winston Churchill. The Gathering Storm

Both are totalitarian systems where the government controls everyone and everything “for the common good” – and the good of the masters.

Corporations don’t pay taxes, people do. Corporations are tax collectors.

Power-hungry politicians WANT to keep people ignorant of the true tax burden. Complaining about “corporate taxes” just confuses the naive, ignorant and uninformed which serves only politicians. It is useful to them also to divide and conquer so that there are fights just like this. Where one side is arguing for higher corporate taxes “for fairness” while not understanding that THEY and everyone else are going to be the ones paying.

The problem with the corporate tax in general is that only people pay taxes.  Corporations do not.  Corporations are just groups of people working together: shareholders, employees and consumers.  Taxes will be paid by those groups. Usually a corporations biggest cost is payroll which means the people being paid will be paying most of the cost of increase taxes through lower wages.  Consumers will be paying the next largest portion through higher prices, followed by a small percent by shareholders.  Shareholders are in the most control though because they have the freedom to say “I will invest” or “I won’t invest” at those rates of return.

Corporate taxes – just like the myth of “employers paying half of social taxes etc –  just hide the true tax rates that people are paying.  It is like saying “charge corporations 100% and people nothing” – people are still paying it, just they don’t know it.  They’re paying it through reduced wages, higher prices, and fewer opportunities because people won’t invest money for nothing, whether it is your $100 in your monthly retirement account contributions or Bill Gates.

The point of the arguments about corporate taxes is to get people upset and divided between people who understand that only people pay taxes and the people who don’t.  This enables power-hungry politicians to get a group of people upset about corporate taxes rates which is one of the most regressive out there.  It is ironic that the poor and unions are being manipulated into supporting an increase in taxes that will impact them the most through higher prices, lower wages, fewer benefits, and less retirement.  What is more disturbing is that they are naive enough to go along with increasing an already regressive tax.

Remember that each step of the manufacturing process adds to the cost through hidden taxes.  It is the perfect setup for power-hungry politicians so that they can spend as much as they want without people being aware of what is going on.  It is perfect to manipulate a population that is unaware that taxing corporations is just another name for using a corporation as a tax collector to collect money from them.

If you want a regressive tax, a corporate tax is the perfect way to hide it and even better for the politicians.  The tricksters can dupe the foolish into voting for them because they say they’ll raise the corporate tax.  What this means in reality is they’ll just use the corporations to collect the taxes on the people buying the products. which as a percentage of income, is usually the poorer group.  And the poorer group is the one clamoring for higher taxes on corporations.

It is a great racket – trick people to be upset that corporations aren’t paying more taxes by fueling envy and class-warfare and then let someone else collect it for you. A divide and conquer strategy at its best.

The tax code is perfect for manipulation – it allows politicians to play the blame game (“well so and so didn’t pay taxes”) never mind the fact that THEY were the ones who put the rules in and people are allowed to follow the laws.  And the added “benefit” is that then lobbyists have to be paid to contribute to politicians to protect people from the government and the government’s long arm.

Remember that corporations are nothing but tax collectors and higher taxes on corporations result in the following on you:

1. Higher prices

2. Lower wages

3. Lower benefits

4. Lower return on your retirement and other investments.

This is intentional.  Just as withholding taxes hide from people the true cost of their tax burden, corporate taxes hide from people the true cost of their tax burden.  It is a great ploy from Washington (and other world capitals) to keep the un-educated upset and ready to follow them over a cliff.  The people who are un-educated about the issue are being suckered by the power-hungry and the politicians will keep it going as long as possible.

The best solution is to have people pay taxes with no withholding. There is no masking of the size of government and the tax burden. No hiding behind ignorance while allowing yourself to be manipulated.

This is an ideological battle.- Jesse Jackson

This is an ideological battle.- Jesse Jackson

Jesse Jackson is correct here.  This is an idealogical battle.  One between those who want to live at the expense of someone else and those who are being forced to pay for it.  It is a battle between the power-hungry politicians in Washington who want to control every person in the country and those who want to be free.  It is a battle between the race-baiters who want to use people skin color to divide and those who believe that people are people no matter skin, eye, or hair color.  In short it is a battle between the individual and the collective group who wants to control individuals for their own exploitation – the age long battle between freedom and slavery.

Compromising on Liberty is a loss for everyone, like taking a little poison.

Compromising on liberty is a loss for everyone.  Compromising on freedom is like saying “no” to taking a dose poison, but then deciding to take just a little poison each time compromise is required.  The poison will kill you eventually, it will just take more time than one full dose to start.  Poisoning the tree of liberty will kill freedom, just slower than an ax.

Only a fool cooperates with his own destroyers.

“Simply saying ‘no,’ as we’ve had this past Congress … won’t bring jobs back.” Senator Harry Reid, November 3, 2010

Senator Reid, only a fool cooperates with his own destroyers. A pro-freedom agenda based on saying “NO” to a statist, anti-freedom, anti-Constitution, socialist agenda is what the election was about.  Politicians who care more about their own power than freedom, should be an endangered species with no 1973 Endangered Species Act to protect them.  When the choice is freedom v.s. control, compromising your freedom away slowly is no more sane than doing it all at once. Being statist democrat-lite will not only be bad for the Republicans, but for the Republic.

Would you compromise with a robber who wants to rob you?  Of course not.  Likewise, the host can not compromise with the parasites feeding off of her.

Saying “NO” to more big government, debt increasing policies is the way to create jobs because government does not create jobs, people do.
