Beginning January 1, 2012, you will be required to report just about everything to the IRS. There has been some discussion recently about this in relation to gold, but it applies to everything if you purchase in aggregate over $600. In other words purchases that add up to more than $600 over the course of a year require IRS form 1099 to be filed. It applies to “all persons engaged in business.” Clean someone’s house? Mow a lawn? Write an article? Write a program? Graphic design? Realtor?
So if a person buys a computer on January 1st for $399, paper and ink and printer for more than $202 on December 31st of that year from the same person or business (flea market, Bill’s Computer Condo, Office Depot) for their office, they are required to file IRS Form 1099. Forgot about it over Continue reading 1099 Your Freedom Away – Reporting everything to the IRS with 1099s →
A standing military force with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defense against foreign danger have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. James Madison
Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Again, abuse of power by the police. No state prevents you from recording a public conversation. Is there a reasonable expectation of privacy out in public on the side of the road? No court has said there is.
What are the police so afraid of that they want to prevent people from keeping them honest? What are the police trying to hide? The lack of integrity is amazing. The reckless of the officer in this video is stunning.
For the first 4-5 seconds of this video it looks like a car-jacking! This power-hungry Maryland police officer pulls a gun, no badge visible, on a citizen. Then the police in Maryland arrest the man for posting this video.
The trouble is power-hungry police such as those in Maryland. You can tell which police are honest and which are not quite easily. Honest police have nothing to fear from recording. Dishonest police have everything to fear.
Remember, “When seconds county, the police are only minutes away.”

It isn’t Republican vs Democrat, it is freedom versus tyranny. Plunder and parasites versus liberty. Collectivism versus Constitutionally limited self-government. It is as simple as that.
It is about all people being created equal and no one being ruled, except in very narrowly defined instances, by anyone else. Paraphrasing Lincoln’s words, there would be no “you work, I’ll eat.”
(“That is the real issue. That is the issue that will continue in this country when these poor tongues of Judge Douglas and myself shall Continue reading Freedom vs tyranny →
Gotta love this guy for exercising his rights and keeping the police in line. Yet another example of a police officer acting like a thug and not knowing the law. The two police officers here were acting like they lived in Nazi Germany or the old U.S.S.R.
It is crazy that the officer asks (around 8:00) “What do you have to hide?” That is an outrageous question. “Officer, if you have nothing to hide, why not let us mount a camera in your bedroom and post your bank account information on the internet.” Why not?
A great book on the topic is Constitutional Chaos by Judge Anthony Napolitano. The citizens of the United States have the right to expect that the government obeys its own laws. A government that ignores its own laws is worse than a mob.
