Senator Baucus admits to not reading bills he votes on

“I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill. You know why? It’s statutory language.  We hire experts.”  Senator Max Baucus, Democrat, Montana, August 24, 2010

You are a disgrace to the title “Senator” and should be ashamed of yourself. Senator Baucus should resign.

“This is all about hate and Islamaphobia.” Ron Paul

“This is all about hate and Islamaphobia.” Ron Paul, August 20, 2010

Ron Paul states that opposition to the mosque near Ground Zero “is all about hate and Islamaphobia” and that the “justification to ban the mosque is no more rational than banning a soccer field in the same place because all the suicide bombers loved to play soccer.”

With all due respect to Ron Paul, he is wrong.  Dismissing opposition as being due to “hate” and “Islamaphobia” is short-sighted and ignorant.  In a free country people are allowed to object and disagree.  One would think that someone who loves freedom as much as Ron Paul would understand that.  Few people are suggesting that the government should step in and stop the mosque, they are suggesting though that if the goal is really “out-reach” that the location be changed.

Racist Senator Harry Reid’s “tone darker” racist comments

“We are a nation of immigrants. So because the wave of immigrants we have now — their skin’s a tone darker than ours — doesn’t make it any different.” Harry Reid, August 11, 2010
Senator Harry Reid again shows he is a racist by bringing up the color of people’s skin.  We know that Senator Reid is obsessed with the color of people’s skin, but get over it, the rest of us do not care.  Many thought we had eliminated racists like Harry Reid years ago, but the people of Nevada have kept re-electing him. Yes, Senator Harry “Racist” Reid projects his own racism and attempts to confused the voters by bringing up skin color, but Senator Reid, please repent your racist statements, skin color is irrelevant.  Unless you are a racist.  Just like eye color.  Overt racism like Senator Reid’s is odious and it is disgusting to see a United States Senator so obsessed with skin color that he brings it up continually.
Racist Senator Harry Reid also needs to stop avoiding the issues, yes, we are “a nation of immigrants”.  That is obvious. What is also obvious is that it is LEGAL immigrants.  Senator, legal immigration is fine, so stop trying to confuse your voters.  No one has a problem with legal immigration.  The problem is that the first act of illegal immigrants is to break the law!  The fact that they are “illegal” means they broke the law.  Would you invite someone to stay in your house after they had just broken a window to get in?  If so, please post your address, there are a lot of illegal immigrants who might like a place to stay.
The Las Vegas Review Journal speaks of illegal immigrants who “sneak in.”  Would you say:  “Home invaders sneaked in and ate my food and took my money.”  “Bank robbers sneaked in and stole the jewels.”  Ah, NO.  Both broke in and broke the law in the process.  The issue is the United States has laws and borders for a reason just like every other country.  Immigration is great, but rewarding illegal immigration is not.

Not a single, solitary, new idea – Obama. The Best Idea is an old one, Freedom.

“They have not come up with a single, solitary, new idea to address the challenges of the American people.” President Barack Obama, August 3, 2010

New ideas?  Freedom is an old idea and it works.  When the government gets too involved – as it has been for years – you end up with repeated crises like this.  The best idea is an old one, FREEDOM.

Power-hungry Pete Stark shows his ignorance of Constitution – “The Federal Government can do most anything in this country”

If anyone needed an example of a power-hungry politician who is willing to ignore his oath to protect and defend the Constitution, Pete Stark is a perfect example.  I would encourage Pete Stark to read the Constitution and the history of its ratification.  The people who elected him should be ashamed.  “The Federal Government can do most anything in this country””

1099 Your Freedom Away – Reporting everything to the IRS with 1099s

Beginning January 1, 2012, you will be required to report just about everything to the IRS.  There has been some discussion recently about this in relation to gold, but it applies to everything if you purchase in aggregate over $600.  In other words purchases that add up to more than $600 over the course of a year require IRS form 1099 to be filed.  It applies to “all persons engaged in business.”  Clean someone’s house?  Mow a lawn?  Write an article?  Write a program?  Graphic design?  Realtor?

So if a  person buys a computer on January 1st for $399, paper and ink and printer for more than $202 on December 31st of that year from the same person or business (flea market, Bill’s Computer Condo, Office Depot) for their office, they are required to file IRS Form 1099.  Forgot about it over Continue reading 1099 Your Freedom Away – Reporting everything to the IRS with 1099s

A standing military force with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defense against foreign danger have been always the instruments of tyranny at home.

Freedom vs tyranny

It isn’t Republican vs Democrat, it is freedom versus tyranny. Plunder and parasites versus liberty. Collectivism versus Constitutionally limited self-government. It is as simple as that.

It is about all people being created equal and no one being ruled, except in very narrowly defined instances, by anyone else. Paraphrasing Lincoln’s words, there would be no “you work, I’ll eat.”

(“That is the real issue. That is the issue that will continue in this country when these poor tongues of Judge Douglas and myself shall Continue reading Freedom vs tyranny
