Obama Administration authorizes killing of U.S. Citizen without trial

The Obama Administration authorized the killing of a United States citizen without a trial or judicial review.  The New York Times states:

“The notion that the government can, in effect, execute one of its own citizens far from a combat zone, with no judicial process and based on secret intelligence, makes some legal authorities deeply uneasy. … President Obama, who campaigned for the presidency against George W. Bush-era interrogation and detention practices, has implicitly invited moral and legal scrutiny of his own policies.”

Holder Criticizes Arizona Immigration Law That He Has Not Read

Holder Criticizes Arizona Immigration Law That He Has Not Read:

“I’ve just expressed concerns on the basis of what I’ve heard about the law. But I’m not in a position to say at this point, not having read the law, not having had the chance to interact with people are doing the review, exactly what my position is,” Eric Holder before the House Judiciary Committee, May 13, 2010.

Kind of reminiscent of Nancy Pelosi stating that “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it“.

One has to wonder about the lack of intelligence of these people who are being sent to Washington and how uninformed about the law.  It is apparent they are completely ignorant when it comes to the Constitution and the law.

What part of “no law” doesn’t Kagan understand?

Kagan  “redistribution of speech” is not “itself an illegitimate end”, 1996 University of Chicago Law Review,“Private Speech, Public Purpose: The Role of Governmental Motive in First Amendment Doctrine.”

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.  1st Amendment, United States Constitution

My only question is, what part of “no law” doesn’t Kagan understand?

We wouldn’t do that on Fourth of July.”  Annicia you are IN THE UNITED STATES.  If you don’t like it, go somewhere else.

They start by destroying money, for money is men’s protection and the base of a moral existence

Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men’s protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold was an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it. Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked: ‘Account overdrawn.’   Ayn Rand

Greece 200-250 billion euro over 5 years? From the United States? IMF?

Barron’s reports today (May 1, 2010) that analysts think the Greece bailout could eventually cost [euro] 200 billion to [euro] 250 billion over five years and the analyst states “The reality is, they need to default.”  The population of Greece is around 10 million people which means a bailout of 20,000 to 25,000 Euros per person in Greece – which is US$26,000 to US$33,000 per person.

Where will the money come from?  Much of the money for a bailout of Greece will come from the IMF.  The question then become where will the IMF get the money and the answer is from its members and which member has the largest, by far, contribution?  The United States.  The United States pays three times more than the 2nd nearest contributor (37149 SDRs vs 13312 SDRs for Japan and 13008 SDRs for Germany).

The United States will be repaying a lot of the profligate spending by the Greeks. Then Portugal, Spain, Italy and Ireland.  This will encourage poor decisions in other countries because they believe the United States will BAIL THEM OUT.  It is bad enough we had to spend 100s of billions of dollars bailing out car companies and Wall Street firms, it is even worse to spend it overseas.

The United States should stop the bailouts of other countries immediately.  $30,000 per person in Greece is crazy.  What could you do with that much money?
