Obama Campaign Claimed McCain was going to tax your health insurance

Obama today agreed to tax health insurance while discussing it positively in December 2009.  This was after attacking John McCain for wanting to tax health plans during the campaign.  Here is the Obama Ad that attacks John McCain for wanting to tax health plans.  And here is the text of the ad:

(Obama): I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.

(Announcer): On healthcare, John McCain promises a tax credit, but here’s what he won’t tell you.  McCain would impose a new tax on health benefits, taxing your healthcare for the first time ever.  Its a multi-trillion dollar tax hike.  The largest middle class tax increase in history.  You won’t find one word about it on his web site, but the McCain tax could cost your family thousands.  Can you afford it?

On NPR, Obama said before Christmas <continued> Continue reading Obama Campaign Claimed McCain was going to tax your health insurance

Obama: broadcasting those [health care] negotiations on C-SPAN

Barack Obama, January 2008: “That’s what I will do in bringing all parties together, not negotiating behind closed doors, but bringing all parties together, and broadcasting those [health care] negotiations on C-SPAN so that the American people can see what the choices are.” (Democratic presidential debate, 1/31/08)

Alas, follow-through is completely lacking.

Back home, everybody thinks for themselves. All those decisions to make. Here, one man thinks for everyone. Hogan’s Heroes

Miss Smythe-Beddoes: Colonel, you had an opportunity to observe the new Germany and the United States. Now, how would you compare them?
Hogan: Oh… no comparison at all. Back home, everybody thinks for themselves. All those decisions to make. Here, one man thinks for everyone. Saves a lot of wear and tear.
I’m, uh… I mean, take the Russian front. That was Hitler’s idea, yet I think it’s so wonderful you don’t hear one word of criticism about it.

Hogan, Hogan’s Heroes, Who Stole My Copy of Mein Kampf? (1969)

Sounds like we’ll be having one person think for everyone on certain topics going forward here now too!

…capitalism or socialism is we are going to have both…

But the other part of human nature is communitarianism. There’s a natural tendency of human beings, in addition to wanting to do things for themselves, they feel a great responsibility in wanting to be part of a community. So I think the debate for the new generation is instead of capitalism or socialism is we are going to have both and which proportion of each should we have in order to make this all work. Its a much more sensible debate. Howard Dean, DNC, 4/5/2009, Paris, France

Howard Dean needs to learn the difference between doing something voluntarily and being forced to do something.   Socialism is forced, communitarianism is not.  Communitarianism is “small self-governing communities” not mammoth government from Washington.  It is time Howard Dean learns the facts before he speaks.

Eco-hypocrisy, celebrities and Copenhagen

Check out this article entitled “Taking the Private Jet to Copenhagen“.

Sheryl Crow, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Truie Styler (wife of Sting), Chris Martin (of Coldplay), Barack Obama (flying a St. Louis chef flown 850 miles to make pizza at the White House), Al Gore  are not only eco-crusaders, but all are eco-hypocrits with things like multiple houses, fleets of private jets, and fleets of cars.

Read the article for the details.

For most Americans, the world beyond the US’s borders is nothing more than an irritating nuisance

For most Americans, the world beyond the US’s borders is nothing more than an irritating nuisance. Hence arguments based on appeals about drowning Bangladeshis, starving Africans and flooded islands in Indonesia have little effect. … Many Americans clearly also believe that real climate change is just something dreamt up by the entertainment industry.  – Der Spiegel.  (See article).

You have to wonder about the author of the article with such short-sighted and ignorant comments.  We might say something like the following: “The people that brought us two world wars now want to control the rest of the world through climate change agreements instead of by force, but controlling us is what they want.”

Then again, we wouldn’t want to step down to anywhere near the level of Der Spiegel, but the authors comments are still some of the most ignorant we’ve heard from Germany in a while.  Der Spiegel might want to encourage to give freedom a try instead of pushing a socialist agenda. Freedom does not sit well with much of Europe.  Seeing a country that still is much freer than all of Europe can’t sit well when looking in the mirror.  Freedom in a country that saved them from complete totalitarianism twice in the last century can’t sit well when they have slowly given away their freedoms to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.  Slavery for a good cause is still slavery.  Being manipulated into believing in man-made global warming may be comforting in that you can be “for” a “good cause,” but it is still being manipulated.

Prescient cartoon in 1948

This video was produced in 1948 and shows exactly the problems we face today (and for years), and the techniques that have been used for 50 years to accomplish the goals.  Disunity and division, class-warfare, race relations are the techniques used to divide the free people and to so conquer and enslave them.

Everyone should take the few minutes to watch this and forward it along.

Nancy Pelosi Ignores Constitution with an “Are you serious?”

Reporter: Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?”

Pelosi: “Are you serious? Are you serious?”

It is unbelievable that when asked where in the Constitution an individual mandate to buy health insurance is authorized, she responds with an “are you serious?”   Talk about one of the most ignorant responses to a quesiton about the Constitution by a Speaker in history.  Nancy Pelosi clearly has either not read the Constitution or the Federalist Papers or her own power is more important to her than the law of the land.

The people who voted for her should be ashamed of themselves for electing someone who is as foolish and uninformed as this woman.  Her interest in power over the people of the United States trumps all concern for freedom, liberty and the Constitution.

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America ‘s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure – Senator Obama, 2006

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America ‘s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America ‘s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, “the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006
